Safety

Lowe-North Construction, Inc. is serious about safety.  The Company has developed a comprehensive safety program, which meets or exceeds rules and regulations of both State and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administrations (O.S.H.A.).  The safety program is updated to stay current with changing rules and regulations as required.

Lowe-North is an active member of the National Association of Tower Erectors (N.A.T.E.).  N.A.T.E. works constantly with O.S.H.A. to develop safety standards for the specialized tower and telecommunication industry.  Lowe-North is also a member of the Association of Builders and Contractors (A.B.C.), which also works with O.S.H.A. to develop safety standards for all trades in the construction industry.  As a General Contractor, Lowe-North believes in and implements a proactive safety program for all construction activities.

A three-tier drug and alcohol testing program was implemented by Lowe-North in 1994.  All prospective employees must pass a drug and alcohol screening test before being hired by Lowe-North.  A random drug and alcohol testing program continues testing employees after hire.  Testing is also required in the event of an accident.

The Company checks the driving record of all potential drivers of Company vehicles prior to hiring and re-checks all current drivers annually.  Lowe-North also performs background checks before hiring potential equipment operators.

Weekly organized toolbox safety meetings are held on site.  All employees working on a site must attend.  Pre-determined topics for discussion are presented in printed form and oral presentation by supervisors.  Employee involvement is encouraged.  Brief daily safety meetings are held each morning and as many times throughout the day as work requires.

All new employees receive a copy of Lowe-North's safety policies, which they must read and sign for before starting to work for Lowe-North.  New employees are placed in experienced crews with supervisors that average over 10 years as supervisors for Lowe-North.  New tower crew members learn the proper and safe methods of rigging and installation from the supervisors.  In addition, tower crew members receive training and certification by certified Comtrain Trainers for climbing safety and rescue.  Company policies, safety program, supervisor experience and knowledge are combined to turn out employees that Lowe-North and its Clients can depend on to work safe.

Lowe-North Construction, Inc. strives for zero accidents and believes continual training, discussion and application of safety are required to sustain a safe work place.  Lowe-North's commitment to safety mirrors its commitment to Quality, Performance and Integrity.  Your Company can rest assured and with the peace of mind that Lowe-North will complete your project safely, on time and with quality that Lowe-North stands behind.
